Wow this was a mess. It didn't save quite how I wanted it to and for some reason my files completely shifted, so everything can't been seen on it. That's super frustrating. But here it is. It's relaly weird to hear my voice talk back to me.
Hearing myself talk back is one of the biggest things I'm getting used to...it's just really strange! I sound so much different than what I hear! I have noticed that I tend to talk really fast, but I don't realize it when I'm talking. Listening to myself talking is a good way to help me know when to slow down, and help me recognize which words I'm saying too fast/slurring together!
I agree with both of you two, hearing myself talk is something that I've always hated and tried to avoid, but I think that using VoiceThread and other programs have helped me to get over it some. I think that hearing myself actually helps me to know my tendencies in terms of speed and intonation and can actually help when I'm actually in front of a class teaching.
I hate my voice so I know where you are coming from, but I thought the lesson was a great example of how this program can be really beneficial for students. I agree with the previous comments about how it can also be a great learning tool for us to listen back to reflect on how we talk and work on rate, tone, expression etc. The other thing I thought was interesting about the program as well, was how it can not only be applied as homework for the students (those that have access to computers) would be able to use, but I think Jamie had commented in a post that it could be used on days that you as a teacher were sick or not able to come into class. Students would still be able to have a lesson taught by their teacher and those usual "free" sub-days could still be used for maximum learning.
